Our team comprises a unique but powerful mix of nationalities, languages, and individual skills and embracing that diversity has enabled us to consistently deliver value to our customers.

Here’s a small overview of how we do just that!

The Melting Pot of Finray

At Finray, we are different in every sense of the word. Members of our staff hail from over ten different countries and speak over five languages. We also have staff members working from all over the world, from Colombia to Poland to Morocco and Brazil. Global should basically be our middle name!

The same is true for our team’s professional backgrounds as well. Some of our staff members may not have attended college but they came with a wealth of knowledge and solar industry experience that makes them invaluable members of our team. Meanwhile, others came straight out of college and knew absolutely nothing about solar yet had a unique set of creative and technical skills that came in handy when we decided it was time to elevate our marketing strategy. 

But none of this happened randomly. At our organization, we firmly believe that anyone can contribute something valuable no matter where they come from.

How Does This Set Us Apart?

Our differences allow us to serve our customers in distinct ways. For one, they help us form meaningful relationships with them. When answering questions about our services or helping someone complete their enrollment, we want our customers to hear from people who share similar values and experiences as them, and who can actually empathize with their reality. For example, our Spanish-speaking staff is able to easily communicate with customers who are native Spanish speakers, ensuring that a language barrier doesn’t get in the way of them getting the support they need.

Secondly, we serve a wide range of individuals and each of them have their unique priorities, challenges and needs. The different backgrounds and viewpoints in our team help us to understand those differences adequately so we can provide true value to our customers. For instance, young families who rent are concerned about reducing their electric bill so they can have more leeway for other expenses. Compared to someone with no personal experience of this, our representatives who rent their homes and have also lived through the stress of high electric bills are able to connect a lot more with those families and better educate them on the ways that community solar can alleviate some of that financial burden.

Why Does This Matter in the Solar Industry?

Community solar and rooftop solar customers come from all walks of life. Some are renters, working multiple jobs to support themselves and their families. Others are homeowners interested in upgrading their homes, boosting their value for the future, or simply gaining more agency over their energy generation. That’s why it’s crucial for our team to understand the people we serve just as well (if not more) than the solar solutions we are offering them.

From the moment we began, a vital part of Finray’s vision has always been the people behind it. It was crucial for us to have the right people to advance our mission and not only that, we wanted team members that could genuinely connect with our customers and create a wholesome customer experience from that first phone call or door knock all the way to the finalized enrollment and beyond. 

We’re proud to say we’ve achieved that. And sure, on paper, it might look a little wacky. But in practice, it’s our team’s collective experiences and differences that ultimately help make solar a little more accessible to as many people as possible.
